Removing makeup is something that needs to be done before going to bed. Since makeup tends to make skin itchy and look unhealthy, removing the makeup is important. However, there are some women who cannot remove their makeup because they think doing so would be too tiring or time-consuming but using a makeup remover is a quick and easy way to take off your makeup. It also helps a lot in keeping your skin healthy and clean.

There are some steps for removing makeup in a healthy way.

1. Choose the right type of cleaner

There are two types of cleaners that can be used, oil-based cleansers and water-based cleansers. Oil-based cleansers work by dissolving the sebum and makeup so it is perfect for people with oily skin. Oil-based cleansers can cause blackheads and whiteheads so people with dry skin should avoid them.

On the other hand, water-based cleaners do not dissolve sebum but instead, they work by removing it using friction therefore they are used more often than oil-based cleansers. Once you know the right type of cleaner then you can move to the next step.

2. Get your face wet with lukewarm water

Makeup will not easily come off if you do not wash away all of the oil and dirt on your face. So, get your face wet with lukewarm water and make sure it is completely wet.

3. Put plenty of cleanser on your hand

Put a dime-sized amount of the appropriate cleanser in your palm. If you have dry skin, use water-based cleaners because oil-based cleaners will not be absorbed by your skin easily so it is better to choose water-based cleaners. However, if you have normal skin, you can choose the oil-based cleanser.

4. Rub your hands together to create a foam

After putting enough cleanser on your hand, rub it with the other hand so that it creates foam. It is better to use small circular motions around your face to avoid irritating your skin.

5. Rinse off with water

After you clean your face with foam, rinse it off by splashing lukewarm water on your face so that you can remove the remaining cleanser on your skin. Now, pat your face dry using a soft towel. Repeat this process until all of the makeup is removed correctly and there is no more makeup left on your face.

6. Moisturize and put on a night cream

After removing the cleanser and rinsing it with lukewarm water, get a moisturizer that has been proven to be safe for your skin type which is usually written on its label. After applying the moisturizer, put night cream on and make sure you do not put on makeup anymore. It is important to take time and clean your face thoroughly because it will help you look better the next day and also keep your skin healthy for a longer period of time.

Taking off your makeup is an easy process. You can choose oil-based or water-based cleansers depending on whether you have dry or oily skin. Make sure all of the makeup is removed by using small circular motions around your face and rinsing it with lukewarm water to make sure there are no more residues left on your skin.

After rinsing, dry your face with a soft towel and apply a moisturizer or nighttime cream depending on whether it states in the label that it is safe for your skin type. Choose the right cleanser and follow these steps to remove makeup in a healthy way.
